The 90s, when "Lo-Fi" was still a byproduct rather than an inevitability. As the grainy texture of 12-bit samplers and the beat aesthetics of 90s hip-hop are now reevaluated as the prototype for chill/lo-fi beats, SEPALOT dives deep into his own past. Digging through demo tapes and DAT cassettes, he has completed a double-LP analog work featuring 36 meticulously selected unreleased tracks produced between 1996 and 2002. In his own words, "They were laughably naive, sometimes even embarrassing, but that innocence held incredible energy." These rough-hewn yet idea- and passion-filled early beats see the light of day for the first time after over 20 years. A real record from an era when "Lo-Fi" still emerged organically.
