Sometimes an incident on the street can change your life. Billy Idol is a legendary British artist. In the midst of a worldwide pandemic, he has created "THE ROADSIDE," his latest four-song EP, the first work with new songs in almost seven years, created while reflecting on his own past! The first release on Dark Horse Records, a long-established label run by the late George Harrison and recently re-launched by his son, Dhani Harrison! In the latter half of the 90's, Billy Idol took a break from the public eye and spent some time on his own. He returned in 2005 with the album "DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND" and continues to be active today, releasing his latest four-song EP "THE ROADSIDE"! This latest EP is the first release from the band's move to Dark Horse Records, the venerable label founded by the late George Harrison and recently relaunched by his son, Dhani Harrison, and features Butch Walker as producer, along with his ally and strongest collaborator/guitarist Butch Walker is the producer, and Steve Stevens, one of the strongest collaborators and guitarists in the band, also participates in the production of this album. The legendary artist recorded these four songs while reflecting on his own life during this period and developing songs about the events that had a profound impact on him.The new song "Bitter Taste," which was released along with information about the latest EP, was created while reflecting on a motorcycle accident in 1990 that left him unable to walk for about a year. Billy Idol said of the song. During the pandemic, I think everyone was feeling more introspective. So we thought it made a lot of sense and was a very natural thing to write a song about that motorcycle accident at this time. That was definitely a cathartic/awakening moment. I feel like a little part of me was left behind on that side of the road. But when I think about it, that wasn't a bad thing, for me that event signaled an awakening. I feel like maybe I left an irreverent young Billy in that place. Dhani Harrison of Dark Horse Records commented on the addition of Billy Idol to his label, "Billy Idol is a great guy, and I'm very proud of him.
