The Arndos Woodwind Quintet was formed in 2013 by five up-and-coming musicians who studied at the Cologne College of Music and the Deutsche Oper in Rhein. The quintet has won prizes at numerous international competitions, including the Anton Garcia Abril International Chamber Music Competition (2014) and the Castilla y León International Chamber Music Competition (2015), and will finally release its debut album "ORIGIN" on the German audite label. ! ORIGIN is a German woodwind quintet based in North Rhine-Westphalia. The ensemble has captivated audiences with its dynamic and charming ensemble. Their playing "speaks strongly to the heart, with witty expressiveness, individual perfection, and a sensuous presentation that all come together in one large slab." (West German Allgemeine Newspaper), and has been highly acclaimed not only for his high performance technique but also for his rich expressive power.The recording includes works by György Ligeti (1923-2006), Thomas Blomenkamp (1955-), a composer who has won numerous international composition competitions and is highly regarded by Ligeti for his talent, and the world premiere recording by Manfred Troyan (1949-), and four works by Maximilian Guth (1992-), Maximilian Guth (1992-). Ligeti's early work "Six Bagatelles" reflects Balkan folk music, Guth's "Ngoma" African trance music, and Troyan and Blomenkamp's work reflects the spirit of French modernism, and the music is full of vitality that has been handed down from the 20th to the 21st century. The woodwind quintet of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon will perform the works of Trojan and Blomenkamp. The quintet performs the works of these four composers with such diversity of expression.
