The Mandelring Quartet is the signature artist of the German audite label. Their latest release is an album of encore works, a collection of string quartet masterpieces that would not have been possible otherwise. The concept of this new album is to include not only classical music, but also tango, blues, and other genre-crossing masterpieces. The recorded works are excerpts from the greatest string quartet works such as "The Birds" by Mozart and Haydn, "America" by Dvořák, and "Andante Cantabile" by Tchaikovsky. The quartet also performs such masterpieces as "Pennies from Heaven" (the title of the album) and Stevie Wonder's "Sir Duke" (aka "The Duke I Love"). The award-winning Mandelring Quartet has completed a truly enjoyable album. The Mandelring Quartet's ensemble once again shows great stability.The newest member of the ensemble since 2015, violist Andreas Wirvoll was born in Erfurt, Germany. After graduating from the Weimar Conservatory, he switched to viola and studied with Alfred Lipka at the Hans Eisler Higher School of Music in Berlin. He was also trained by renowned performers such as Kim Kashkashian and Christoph Poppen. Since then, he has performed at international music festivals and is a member of the Faust Quartet, and since 2001 he has been Principal of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is also a member of the Mandelring Quartet, and his future performances as a member of the Mandelring Quartet will be of great interest. King International
