Description:
A collection of string quintets by Eugène Walchier, a composer and flutist who lived in Paris during the turbulent 19th century. The Fabergé Quintet, formed by members of the NDR Symphony Orchestra, has received high acclaim for its recordings of Adolphe Blanc's string quintet and Hermann Goetz's piano quintet, works that would have been too good to remain forgotten. The beautiful pencil drawing on the cover of the album is "The Piano Quintet" by Adolph Blanc. The beautiful pencil drawing on the jacket is by Rieko Hidaka, a Japanese artist who continues to draw works with "trees" as a motif. Tokyo M-Plus
