The first installment of the Esterházy family's musical heritage series is Haydn's Morning, Noon, and Evening! Known for its unique title, this symphonic trilogy is the first symphony Haydn wrote for the Esterházy family, which he was to serve for many years from 1761. Haydn's active use of concerto-like passages, adapted to the compositions and skills of the court orchestra, and the striking titles that evoke specific images, helped him to make a strong statement of himself. This album is the first in the "Esterházy Music Collection" by Gerge Vashej and the Orfeo Orchestra. It is intended to showcase the musical heritage of the Esterházy family, and the recording was made right here in the Esterházy Palace. The very excellent "historical acoustics" are also noteworthy.
