Furtwängler's "9th" heard by Dr. Hidekazu Yoshida at Bayreuth, now available for the first time in authorized version! The Bayreuth "Ninth" is the king of my orchestral concert experience. It was truly amazing. I have heard the "Ninth" dozens of times since then, but I have never heard a better performance of the "Ninth" than that one. For Furtwängler, the "9th" was the king of all symphonic music, the supreme ultimate work, and for me, the "9th" was the king of all orchestral concert experiences. (From "Furtwängler" in Record Geijutsu, a separate volume published in 1984)★Furtwängler later heard "Don Giovanni" and "Freischütz" in Salzburg and "The 9th" in Bayreuth. I was especially impressed with the "Ninth". The third movement was very good.In the fourth movement, the joyful theme was played by the bass, and it was very slow, but as it was repeated, it became faster and faster, gradually building up to the chorus, which was quite remarkable.
