The album is a bold and intriguing project, covering all piano works of three hands or more, recorded by WDR broadcasters, with performers all specializing in contemporary music, including some first recordings. The program also includes some first-time recordings. Piano and Voice" features five grand pianos and five sopranos in a magnificent setting (though the music is serene and beautiful, the essence of Feldman's music). The recently discovered "Trio for Two Pianos and Cello" features the virtuoso Rohan de Saram, a member of the Arditti String Quartet. In the 1950s, Feldman developed his own contemplative musical style. The flow and form of the music, which is not common, the use of slow, calm, and sometimes very long notes, and the tranquil space create an indescribable expression.Most of the pieces are also characterized by the minute nuances of pianissimo played from the piano.
