Menahem Pressler, born in 1923, is a "living legend in the piano world" and a master pianist. In April 2014, he came to Japan for a duo recital with Sayaka Shoji, where their gentle performance filled the audience with quiet emotion. He is one of the oldest masters in the world and is attracting renewed attention. This is his second release on LA DOLCE VOLTA, a collection of Mozart sonatas.The program includes the Turkish March and Nos. 17 and 18, which are all masterpieces. This is the first recording of Mozart's sonatas, and it has attracted a great deal of attention. It is very difficult to reproduce the mood of the moment when Mozart wrote these notes. Mozart could give us infinite joy and sorrow at the same time. His music never lapses into ironic expression. The performer's mission is to master Mozart's own musical language as if it were his own.
