The Ricercar Consort's newest recording of Schütz's works, which were performed 400 years ago as a prayer for peace, is the latest release from Pierro and the Ricercar Consort, which established the foundation for the rise of Belgian classical music. 30 Years War was a religious war fought mainly in Germany from 1618 to 1648, during which Protestants and Catholics were at war. The main reason was the conflict between Protestants and Catholics, and Schütz left a variety of motets during this time of fear and danger. His music is fair and hopeful, and he made both German (Protestant) and Latin (Catholic) versions of the album title "Lord, Give Peace," which makes you think a lot while immersing yourself in the beautiful music.
