I never thought I knew such a beautiful work! Gabriel Dupont (1878-1914), a French composer of the same generation as Ravel, died prematurely at the age of 36 and although his works are few, they offer a glimpse into his unique sound world. The piano suite "The House on the Dune," composed in 1907-9, is a large work of 10 pieces. Giraud has other recordings of two of them, but here we can enjoy the entire work. Like Debussy, he was strongly influenced by Mussorgsky, creating a curious acoustic. Furthermore, the world of exquisite beauty that fades into the elegant melancholy of Chausson is fascinating and makes you feel as if you have discovered a treasure. Gustave Samazouille (1877-1967) is famous for his piano arrangements of works by Debussy and Ravel, but his original works also have an appealing, dense style that combines Impressionism with Wagnerian influences. You can enjoy Giraud's beautiful performance. Marie-Catherine Giraud's performance at the Forgernay Music Festival was also well received. She performs unknown works in an elegant and fragrant manner.The album was once released on a French independent label, but has now been released worldwide on MIRARE. King International
