This 10-CD box set features one of the very last instruments crafted by the master luthier Antonio Stradivari in 1726. After being bequeathed to the Royal Academy of Music in London in 1960, it has been on loan to Issalis since 2009. Over the past 15 years, Issarris has traveled the world performing on this instrument and has made numerous recordings. This set compiles 10 of Issarris’s most representative albums. From his latest Boccherini album, *Music of the Angels*, to concertos by C.P.E. Bach, Schubert, Mendelssohn, and Dvořák, and even works by Tavener, you can fully appreciate the charm of this instrument through music spanning various eras and styles over the past 300 years. The two booklets include all the original liner notes for each album, as well as an essay by Issalis describing the hardships and joys of traveling the world with this instrument, a record of the instrument’s extraordinary journey after its first owner, the Marquis de Colberon, fell victim to the French Revolution, and reflections on the challenges of owning and maintaining the instrument. *CapBox Specifications Universal Music/IMS
