Faust and Bezuidenhout have known each other since 2010, when they performed Beethoven's Triple Concerto with the 18th Century Orchestra under Bruchen, and in 2016 they recorded Bach's Violin Sonatas BWV 1014-1019 (HMM-902256) to worldwide acclaim. Christine von der Goltz, bass continuo, is a premier cellist & bass continuo player who has been a principal player in the FBO for many years. Isabelle Faust has performed with the FBO for many years, and they are friends who know each other very well, making them the best possible members. Faust's violin is truly eloquent, and her straight, unwavering tone is as lusciously beautiful as the finest china. Faust's playing always has moments when he seems to be communicating with something beyond human knowledge, such as the occasional impulsive ornamentation as if possessed by something.Bezuidenhout's harpsichord was as ever a genius, with exquisite intervals between passages, and ornamentation that was never obtrusive, but nevertheless meaningful.
