The ensemble and its conductor have established themselves as the foremost performers of Pärt's works, based on a nearly half-century-long artistic partnership between Pärt and producer Manfred Eicher. The album demonstrates the ever-deepening trust between choir and conductor, rooted in empathy for both ancient monophonic chant and contemporary music. recorded at the Harpsal Cathedral in Estonia in 2021-22, the album is a testament to the ensemble's commitment to the music of the past and to the music of the future, and to the spirit of the music of the future.
