Description:

Celebrating the 80th anniversary of his birth." Unreleased Masters, a 6-CD boxed set of recordings by the pianist hailed as "the lyricist of the millennium." To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of one of the most outstanding pianists of his generation, the Romanian Radu Lupu, in November 2025, a special collection of his recordings, Unreleased Masters, will be released by Decca. This 6-CD boxed set is a special collection of recordings by Rudu Rupu, a Romanian pianist, to mark the 80th anniversary of his birth in November 2025. Lepoux was a master of lyricism, and his ability to make the piano whisper like no one else could, earned him the title of "the lyricist of the millennium. He was called "the lyricist of the millennium," and he died in April of 2022, having attracted many fans and admirers around the world. This set is a collection of his radio broadcasts and previously unreleased tapes from the Decca archives. Lepoux did not appear in concert or have much of a discography. This set, consisting only of works that he left no other recordings, will be very valuable to collectors.Covering more than 30 years of performances, the earliest recording is from 1970 in Leeds, the year after he won the Leeds International Piano Competition, and the most recent is an encore performance of Debussy at a concert in Germany in 2002. In 1991, Lepoux expressed his view of art as follows: "Everyone tells a different story. Everyone tells a different story, and that story must be told unconsciously and grab people's attention. If it is not gripping and compelling, it has no value. The booklet includes a fascinating commentary by renowned piano scholar Jessica Duchen, photographs from the Decca archives (including previously unpublished ones), and a list of artists and friends who knew and worked with Le Poux well, including Lan Lan, Daniel Barenboim, Stephen Hough, and Includes tributes to Lupu from piano entrepreneur Marco Riaskoff. Comes in a cap box. What can I say about this man's touch! His perfectionism in detail is coupled with a musical imagination that certainly delivers, and an unwavering understanding of where the music is going" (Rob Cowan, Gramophone) "His interpretations seem to emerge from deep within him, and his deep understanding and knowledge of the works he performs is inextricably linked to his overwhelming emotional power. His interpretations seem to emerge from a deep place within him. The sound he draws from the piano in this way! It is unbelievably beautiful..." - "Gramophone" magazine Universal Music/IMS
