Complete album on Russian ballet troupe by a young conductor attracting international attention Finnish conductor Klaus Makela is releasing the final installment of his album with the Orchestre de Paris on the theme of the Russian Ballet on the Decca label. The previous albums in this series of Stravinsky's ballet music were "The Firebird" and "The Rite of Spring," and now "Petrushka" has been recorded. Debussy's "The Games" and "Prelude to the Pastoral Afternoon" are also included. His previous works have been phenomenally successful, receiving numerous accolades, and he will tour the United States with the Orchestre de Paris, including his Carnegie Hall debut in March 2024. They will also perform Stravinsky's "The Firebird" and "The Rite of Spring. Born in 1996, Makela studied cello and conducting at the Sibelius Academy from the age of 12, and has received critical acclaim at a young age for his performances with the world's leading orchestras, including the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, and Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2020, he will serve as Principal Conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2021 as Music Director of the Orchestre de Paris.He is scheduled to assume the position of Principal Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2027.
