Ethereal Brazilian experimental~ambient jazz that could have been included in that famous compilation "Outro Tempo"! Wolfgang Perez, a songwriter/guitarist with roots in Germany and Spain, releases a love letter to his beloved Brazilian music. Perez spent about two years in Rio de Janeiro starting in 2022, where he spent 18 months as a musician-in-residence. He not only studied music at UFRJ/UNIRIO under the tutelage of masters such as Josimar Carneiro, Marcelo Gonçalves, and Almir Cortes, but was also inspired by the region's leading musicians, including Thiago Nasif, Art Lindsay, and Ana Frango Eletrico. He also learned the music of Thiago Nasif, Art Lindsay and Ana Frango Eletrico. They spent time going to live shows and baile funki parties, walking the streets, hiking in Rio and the surrounding mountains, listening to music, making friends, learning where to go and where not to go, learning the language, learning slang, integrating into the culture, and just letting the city come alive.It was during this time that he became acquainted with Angelo Wolf, owner of Wolf Studios, which has recorded Barra Desejo and many other artists. Wolff was so impressed with Perez's music that he gave him time to do a residency and record at his studio, which led to the creation of this album. The young guitarist and singer/songwriter Karol Maier participated in the production and recording. He brought delicacy and softness to the music. The impressive wind ensemble, featuring some of Rio's best musicians, was created by Antonio Nevis. The world of this album is a packaging of the paradisiacal beauty of modern Brazil, or rather the city of Rio de Janeiro, and the contradictions and chaos that exist on the other side of it. It is a piece of soundscape like a languid tropical night.
