Here is Asian film music that differs from Western soundtracks and library music, and is based on dandut, the popular music loved by the working class in Indonesia! ELEVATION RECORDS releases the soundtrack of the movie "Leave the Revenge to Me" set in Indonesia in 1989 on analog vinyl. Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash (2021) is a romantic comedy-drama set in a working-class district of West Java, Indonesia. Ajo Kawir, the impotent protagonist, and Iteun, the other protagonist, who is liberal regarding sexuality. The film successfully depicts the clash between these two characters, and the soundtrack, with its use of recorders and other acoustic instruments and analog synthesizers, captures this atmosphere beautifully. Although the story takes place in the 1980s, director Dave Lumenta, who was in charge of the music, did not want to use much music from that era.He used music inspired by each of the characters, inspired by dandut and rock, a mix of Malay, Indian, and contemporary pop music, so that his imagination would be free from its period and social context. Recommended for lovers of Indonesian rock music such as PANBERS, Dandut in general including Roma Ilama, traditional Malay music and Bollywood. *The number of items in stock is undecided at this time due to the limited availability of this product.
