Although the film has not yet been released in Japan, it won the Jury Prize and the Best Actress Award (Zoe Saldana, Selena Gomez, Carla Sofia Gascon, and Adriana Paz) at the 77th Cannes International Film Festival. It is also available on Netflix in North America starting November 13, 2024. The "crime musical" follows cartel boss Emilia (Carla Sofia Gascon) who enlists the help of disgraced lawyer Rita (Zoe Saldana) to fake her death in order to embrace her true gender identity. The film follows four Mexican women on their journey to happiness through liberating song, dance, and bold visuals. The album also includes "El Alegato" and "Todo y Nada" by Zoe Saldana, and "El Mal," in which Zoe delivers a hot hip-hop-infused performance and Carla Sofia Gascon sings her most passionate speech to the screen, as well as the highlight of the album, "Mi Camino" by Selena Gomez, Selena Gomez's one and only performance of the song "Mi Camino" is also included.
