Trevor Rabin, one of the most important figures in Yes Music, will release his first solo album featuring vocals in 34 years, "Rio," on Inside Out Music, a Sony Music subsidiary. Trevor Rabin will release his first solo album featuring vocals in 34 years, "Rio," on Inside Out Music, a subsidiary of Sony Music. Johannesburg-born Rabin, who has carved out a long and varied career, is best known for his 12-year tenure with Yes, beginning in 1983, over four albums. The iconic progressive rock band was embraced by a wider audience when their smash hit "Owner Of A Lonely Heart," released that same year, debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard charts. Rabin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 2017.In recent years, he has also formed Anderson, Rabin & Wakeman (ARW) with former Yes members John Anderson and Rick Wakeman. The release of his last solo album featuring vocals, "Can't Look Away," in 1989 (2012's "Jacaranda" was all instrumental) means that Rabin has been waiting more than 30 years for its follow-up. Trevor admits that he was under pressure from various quarters, including his own family, to speed up the process. But the delay in release was unavoidable: since leaving Yes after the 1994 album Talk, primarily as a prelude to beginning touring as part of ARW in 2016, the guitarist had ventured into the time-consuming world of film soundtracks.Trevor's name has appeared as the composer of such blockbusters as "Con Air," "Armageddon," "Remember the Titans," "Enemy Of The State," "Deep Blue Sea," "Glory Road," "60 Seconds," and two films in the National Treasure series. He has appeared as a composer on such blockbuster films as "Gone In 60 Seconds" and two films in the "National Treasure" series. I've had ideas and concepts for the last ten years, but never got around to executing them due to busy schedules," he explains, adding, "The years just flew by. The years just flew by, I have to admit. I was convinced that now was the time to make it happen, and once I got the momentum going, I worked on the album 24/7. Named "Rio" after Rabin's granddaughter, the album features Trevor's own paintings on the artwork.
