Description:
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso "Urgentissimo" released in 1980 This is the ninth studio album by Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, one of the leading Italian progressive bands, and the first album after Banco's transfer to CBS. The previous album, "Canto Di Primavera (Songs of Spring)," showed a bit of a pop side, but on this album, the band shortened its name to Banco and made a fresh start, creating a new Banco music with pop power at full throttle. By moving from the conventional Ricordi label to the major CBS label, the band chose to coexist with the new trends of the 80s, from old-style progressive rock to the new, and this ambitious work is a musical turnaround in an attempt to turn the band around commercially as well. Unlike mere pop music, Banco's intricate arrangements and stimulating sense of melody are still present. The album was a big hit, reaching No. 11 on the album chart, much to the surprise of traditional fans. Includes the single cuts "Paolo, Pa" and "Dove Sara," released in 1980 on limited edition 180g red vinyl.
