Monuments

Description:

MONUMENTS' 4th album "In Stasis" is a British progressive metal/gento-machine, which is inevitably going to be a further leap forward with the addition of Andy Cizel, a talented vocalist. MONUMENTS was formed in the UK in 2007 by John Browne and Josh Travis (who later left the band) after their former band, FELLSILENT, split into two separate bands. (The other band, TESSERACT, was born after the split.) The band's strong, grooving guitar riffs and highly polished songs made a big splash in the DJENT scene, and they made their debut in 2012 with "Gnosis". Since then, the band has been going through a series of member changes and has steadily grown and emerged in the process of releasing two albums, "The Amanuensis" (2014) and "Phronesis" (2018). The upcoming release, "In Stasis," is the first since the addition of Andy Cizek, who is also the frontman for WVNDER and MAKARI, as lead vocalist. The concept of "In Stasis" is that we are in a struggle with ourselves," says the band. The biggest change from the past has been the presence of Andy Cizek, who has the ability to demo a song instantly. His fast work has allowed the other members to not overthink a song before hearing the vocals. Another important event on the record is the return of original drummer Mike Malyan, who, along with guitarist John Browne, demoed all of the songs on this album. On the songwriting side, the band's inclusion of video game composer Mick Gordon as a featured artist was another major turning point for the band.Mick's soundscapes and creative insights provide additional inspiration for the band. Guests include former members Neema Askari (SUBTRACT) and Spencer Sotelo (PERIPHERY), a great choice for DJENT fans. In Stasis" is sure to push MONUMENTS to the next level.
