Celebrating the 90th birthday of a great master! The world's long-awaited combination of the master of film music John Williams, who turned 90 on February 8, 2022, with the greatest cellist of our time, Yo-Yo Ma, and the New York Philharmonic, is now available! This is the first time in nearly 20 years* (excluding film soundtracks) that they have performed together since the February 2002 release of "Yo-Yo Ma Plays the Music of John Williams," and the new album features the cello concerto composed for Yo-Yo Ma (revised in 2021 and re-recorded) as well as a new version of the cello concerto for Yo-Yo Ma (revised in 2021 and re-recorded). The new album includes the Cello Concerto (revised and re-recorded in 2021) composed for Yo-Yo Ma, as well as Spielberg's masterpiece "Schindler's List," with its haunting melody, to convey the appeal of John Williams as a composer in progress. The world premiere recording of "Cello Concerto" was made with the Recording Arts Orchestra of Los Angeles in April 2001. It was Seiji Ozawa who proposed the "Concerto" for Yo-Yo to John Williams, and the first performance took place on July 7, 1994 at the Seiji Ozawa Hall Kakihirochi. Sony Music
