To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the legendary band the Pixies, the compilation album *Complete B-Sides: 1988–97*, featuring hidden gems and rare tracks, is set for re-release!! Six new live tracks have been added!! To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the legendary band the Pixies, *Complete B-Sides: 1988–97* has been remastered and is being revived today, 25 years after its original release... When this album was originally released on CD in 2001, the band had already been on hiatus for about 10 years. *Complete B-Sides: 1988–97* features 19 tracks released between 1988 and 1991 that were never released as singles. “Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)” In addition to B-sides that could be considered hidden gems of the Pixies—such as “Into the White” and “The Thing”—the collection also includes rare tracks like the instrumental version of “Letter to Memphis,” which was previously available only on the U.S. edition of the “Alec Eiffel” maxi-single. Furthermore, this reissue includes six newly added live tracks, selected from later releases such as the 1997 album *Debaser*. For this edition, Kevin Van Bergen—who has remastered many key works for 4AD—has remastered all tracks from the original analog tapes. The result is a remarkably fresh soundscape, marking the culmination of his remastering work on the Pixies’ catalog. Designer Chris Bigg (v23) created new artwork using previously unused photographs from Simon Larbalestier’s archive that were originally taken for the Pixies. Both men, who have been associated with the band for many years, worked on this album and *Live at the BBC* simultaneously, completing them as tributes to the late Vaughn Oliver (visual director).
