This rare live recording also includes vocal works by Brahms and Mozart! Born in Tallinn in the former Soviet Union, Neeme Järvi studied under Evgeny Mravinsky and has become a world-famous Estonian master, and will turn 85 in early summer 2022. In 2019, he will release a live concert recording with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ENSO), of which he is the Music Director and Chief Conductor, as a commemorative release. The album is a collection of the Estonian maestro Nämé Järvi's fascinating works, which boasts a vast and varied output of nearly 500 recordings and was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" at the 2018 Gramophone Awards. The performance is live, which makes it all the more tense. In addition to orchestral works by Wagner and Reger, the rarely performed Brahms' "Ode to Fate" for voice is also a highlight. The concert ends with Mozart's famous "Ave Verum Corpus.
