Imogen Cooper, a brilliant British woman who has earned a reputation as a specialist in the German-Austrian repertoire of Classical & Romantic music, has been awarded the Gramophone Magazine's "Editor's Choice" for her vivid performance of modern Spain and France in her last album "Iberia and Francia" (CHAN20119), and the ICAN2019 "Editor's Choice" for "Iberia and Francia" (CHAN2019). Imogen Cooper's latest album, which borrows the title of Proust's great novel, is a very personal one, with a theme of rediscovering the music she studied in her youth in Paris and with Alfred Brendel in Vienna!
