Description:

Imogen Cooper New Recordings! Faure, Liszt, Ravel, Respighi! Imogen Cooper looks to the past and writes about the masterpieces of Fauré, Liszt, and Ravel! A personal recital program to rediscover the works studied by great teachers such as Brendel! Imogen Cooper, a brilliant British woman who has earned a reputation as a specialist in the German-Austrian repertoire of Classical & Romantic music, has been awarded the Gramophone Magazine's "Editor's Choice" for her vivid performance of modern Spain and France in her last album "Iberia and Francia" (CHAN20119), and the ICAN2019 "Editor's Choice" for "Iberia and Francia" (CHAN2019). Editor's Choice" and an ICMA (International Classical Music Awards) nomination. Imogen Cooper's latest album, which borrows the title of Proust's great novel, is a very personal one, with a theme of rediscovering the music she studied in her youth in Paris and with Alfred Brendel in Vienna! Cooper studied with Jacques Fevrier, who knew Ravel well, and Yvonne Lefebvre, who knew Alfred Cortot, from 1961 to 1967, but she never performed the Ravel and Liszt masterpieces included in this album in concert. It will be very interesting to see how the teacher's messages in the old scores, the ear and finger memories (Paris before May 1968 was deeply connected to the past, including performance habits), and the large amount of new repertoire (especially German) and performance activities she has acquired since then, have influenced her interpretation of these works in performance. It will be very interesting to see how her newly acquired repertoire (especially of German origin) and performance activities have influenced her interpretation of these works. Tokyo M-Plus
