Federico Colli is a promising pianist from Italy who won the first prize at the Mozart International Competition in Salzburg in 2011 and the Gold Medal at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012. She has performed in some of the world's most prestigious halls, and in the 2018/19 season she will make her recital debuts at New York's Lincoln Center, Berlin Konzerthaus, and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, and her first appearances at Wigmore Hall and the Lucerne Music Festival. Her first recording as a Chandos resident, a collection of Domenico Scarlatti sonatas (CHAN 10988), received five-star reviews from the UK's International Piano magazine and The Times for its sparkling, passionate performance, and was praised by the UK's leading online website, Presto Classical. The online website Presto Classical named it one of the "Presto Recordings of theYear 2018" (one of the top 10 recordings of the year).In Volume 1, the program was assembled from over 500 Scarlatti sonatas, grouped together in Chapters 1 through 4 from a unique perspective. Volume 2 contains a total of 16 pieces from 8 sets of two contrasting sonatas, such as K.63 and K.64, grouped together in two unique sets of two sonatas each.
