The newest addition to the "Musica Italiana" series, which has featured Respighi, Wolf-Ferrari, and Dallapiccola, is Alfredo Casella (1883-1947), who was very influential in the world of Italian music between the two world wars! In the 19th and 20th century, when opera flourished in Italy, Alfredo Casella composed symphonic and orchestral works.During his studies at the Paris Conservatory, he studied composition under Fauré, became friends with Ravel and Enescu, and was also influenced by the works of Debussy, the Russian National Music School, Mahler, R. Strauss, Bartók, Schoenberg, and Stravinsky, among others, with a bias toward opera He was influenced by the works of composers such as Mahler, R.
