The Nash Ensemble, England's supergroup! The Nash Ensemble, founded in 1964, is the resident chamber ensemble at London's Wigmore Hall, featuring some of the world's top musicians. The Nash Ensemble has recorded and performed a wide variety of styles of music, including over 300 world premieres, and has garnered attention as one of the finest ensembles in the UK. Their first new recording with Hyperion in nearly two years features the piano trios and string quartets of Clara Schumann and Fanny Mendelssohn, two of the leading female musicians of the Romantic era. Although they have been reappraised in recent years as "Robert's Wife" and "Felix's Sister," respectively, these chamber works, which have rarely been recorded or performed, can be heard in high quality performances.
