The second volume of the complete solo piano works of Hungarian composer-pianist Ernee Dohnányi (1877-1960), promoted by the British virtuoso Martin Roscoe, one of the leading pianists in the piano kingdom of Hyperion. Volume 2 includes four early works composed between 1897 and 1907, including the "Variations and Fugue on a Theme of EG," which was praised in Vienna. D'Honani's early piano works are characterized by a German Romantic sound reminiscent of Brahms. Martin Roscoe plays D'Honani's "Piano Concerto" (CDA 66684) and is one of the best D'Honani players of his generation. Tokyo M-Plus
