In October 2022, 26-year-old star conductor Klaus Makela and the Orchestre de Paris made a tour of Japan that drew nationwide attention. This is the first release of a recording with the Orchestre de Paris, of which he is the music director, featuring the main pieces of the program for his visit to Japan, Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" and "The Firebird. Klaus Makela, 26, was born in Finland in 1996 and studied cello and conducting at the Sibelius Academy at the age of 12. In 2020, at the young age of 24, he will assume the position of Principal Conductor of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra in Norway, and in the following season, 2021, he will become Music Director of the prestigious Orchestre de Paris. In the following season in 2021, he will also become Music Director of the prestigious Orchestre de Paris. The recent announcement that he will also be appointed Chief Conductor of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under a 10-year contract beginning in 2027, as voted by the orchestra's members, has created quite a stir with news that symbolizes a new era in the classical music world.
