On the 25th anniversary of his death, the Czech conductor Rafael Kubelík, who will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his death in August 2021, was in many ways a "big man". Tall and strong, he was also extremely generous as a person and devoted to his friends and colleagues. This collection contains recordings Kubelík made with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Opera House Orchestra at Covent Garden. Includes two operas, Weber's "The Magic Bullet" and Nicolai's "The Merry Wives of Windsor". 12 CD boxed limited edition. In original jacket. Kubelík made his debut conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival in 1950.
