Murray Pellaia First Deutsche Grammophon Transfer! Deutsche Grammophon has signed a new contract with contemporary maestro Murray Pellaia. American-born pianist Murray Pellaia will be recording works that form the core of his repertoire for Deutsche Grammophon in the coming months. This repertoire has remained brilliant since his debut in the mid-1960s, and will continue to do so until his 70th birthday next April. Pellaea has been praised for his poetic expressiveness, tonal versatility, spiritual depth, and many other artistic qualities. The first selection for the Gramophone program is J.S. Bach's French Suite, a composer that has been close to Peraia's heart since the age of 15, when he heard the "Matthew Passion" conducted by Casals and was deeply moved. In the 1990s, when his illness prevented him from playing the piano, the study of Bach's works became a source of support for him. The French Suites are among the finest of Bach's works.
