A new project by the new queen of violin, Hilary Hahn! Hilary Hahn's new endeavor is commissioning 26 contemporary composers from 17 countries to create encore pieces for violin and piano, recording them, and performing them in concert around the world. 27 pieces were publicly solicited, from which Hilary selected the pieces (Jeff Myers: The Angry Birds of Kauai). Among Japanese composers, works by Soaki Sato and Michiru Oshima were selected. Hilary Hahn, who is a violin virtuoso and has collaborated with many composers in other genres, selected these pieces, which are sure to become standard pieces for the 21st century. The program of her highly successful Japan recital tour in May 2013 included six pieces from the "27 Pieces: Hilary Hahn Encores" project, as well as several encores, so Hilary Hahn fans and core classical music fans already know how easy and catchy the pieces are to listen to.
