Formed in '14 by singer and guitarist Valerio "Willy" Goattin, GALAVERNA released their debut album "DODSDANS" on CD in '19. As the band says they were inspired by Scandinavian progressive folk sounds, it is true that their music is not so much Mediterranean in its luminosity, but rather doom-like, with an indigenous, shadowy and desolate feel that is deeply linked to Swedish folk rock bands from the 70s such as Ragnarok and KEBNEKAISE. It is a folk sound with a heavy resonance. If you broaden the scope of quotations, you will find a delicate pastoralism and acidic sensation that can also be found in British folk music such as TUDOR LODGE/SPIROGYRA, and you will be immersed in a natural and organic sound that transcends borders.
