Southside Movement was a Chicago funk band that released three albums between 1973 and 1975 on the Wand and 20th Century labels. Jackie Ross (born in St. Louis), another Chicago female singer who has done quite a bit of work for Chess and Brunswick. The two artists have reissued their joint album (the equivalent of a six-song mini-album), produced by the talented Chicago producer James Van Lear, with the addition of previously unreleased songs from Southside Movement and new artwork.The tropical\/Brazilian-flavored groovy soul tune \"You Are The One That I Need\" is just a super killer!　The catchy horn riff is a pleasantly light sound, and Jackie Ross's extended voice brings a wonderful uplifting feeling to this impeccable hidden gem!
