Under the direction of conductor Martin Vorberg, who is already highly acclaimed for his interpretations of Mozart and Grétry's operas, they show solid solidarity backed by an outstanding sense of harmony in this recording, and deliver Philidor's colorful orchestrations, which are somewhere between Rameau and Haydn, with a wonderful sense of taste. The soloists responded to the orchestration with full and rich singing.
