The piece is a brilliant performance, demanding sometimes extreme virtuosity and conveying the full sound of the energetic orchestra. On the other hand, Gershwin's \"Second Rhapsody\" and \"An American in Paris\" were arranged for four-handed piano by Jacobson himself, and this is the world premiere recording.\" Both \"An American in Paris,\" a masterpiece depicting the vibrancy of Paris in the 1920s, the \"Mad Age,\" and \"Second Rhapsody,\" about a character wandering the streets of New York City, are fresh and intimate arrangements that only Jacobson, who knows piano duo music inside and out, could have made possible.Rhapsody in Blue\" was arranged in 1925 by Henry Levine, a jazz trumpeter of the past, and was performed by Gershwin himself.
