The album features works that combine string orchestra and chorus. Many of the new versions are new, and the ambitious performances by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Pärt's longtime friend Tonu Karijuste, are captivating. The opening piece, \"Littlemore Tractus,\" takes as its point of departure the thoughts on consolation from a sermon by the 19th century English theologian John Henry Newman, from which the entire atmosphere of the recording is created. To summarize its characteristics, it is about introspection and reconciliation with the past.German musicologist and critic Wolfgang Zandoner wrote in the liner notes about the album's widely appealing repertoire, \"Sound and silence, music and words continue to dialogue in Arvo Pärt's works. But vocal and instrumental, secular and pagan, also complement each other. Rituals of worship take the place of religious concerts, creating a stream of common origin.\" The works included are based on or inspired by biblical, worship, or other Christian texts. Vater Unser for chorus, strings, and piano, movingly arranged by Calyuste, closes the album.\n\n\n\nTractus is an extension of Tabula rasa, which first popularized Arvo Pärt's music in 1984. The collaboration between Pärt and producer Manfred Eicher has been going on for 40 years. Our collaboration on a new record is always festive,\" says Pärt. It's very alive and something is always in the making,\" says Pelto.\n\n\n\nMusic and words - that is clearly at the core of Arvo Pärt's work. Even when the words are not heard, even when there is no text in the music, the power of language is its subject\" (Wolfgang Zandoner).\n\n\n\nIncludes a booklet with all lyrics and liner notes by Wolfgang Zandner (German) and Kai Kutman (English).\n\n(UNIVERSAL MUSIC\/IMS)\n\n\n\nScheduled to be recorded\n\nArvo Pärt: \"Arvo Pärt.\n\nLP 1\n\n[Side A]\n\n1) Littlemore Tractus(2000\/2022)(T.
