Michael Collins, one of the finest clarinetists of our time, has been principal of the London Sinfonietta and the Philharmonia Orchestra, and was a member of the Nash Ensemble. Michael Collins' new concerto recording is by a Finnish classical composer who was also an outstanding clarinetist, and who is popular for his excellent concerto albums, from the famous concertos of Mozart and Weber to important British repertoire, Collins, who has also served as principal conductor of the City of London Sinfonia since 2010, will lead the Swedish Chamber Orchestra in a performance of this important classical clarinet work, which requires a high level of technique, and will bring a graceful and elegant tone.
