COLD GAWD, a shoegaze band led by California-based multi-instrumentalist MATT WAINWRIGHT, releases their debut album on DAIS RECORDS! The band's core member, MATT WAINWRIGHT, wrote all the songs in about a month with a pink Jazzmaster, some pedals, and a laptop, which he had always wanted to play. The songs on this album were written in about a month or so, with a few pedals and a laptop. The band's sound is a blend of alternative rock, post-hardcore, black metal, and shoegaze, with themes of open-tuned guitars and R&B melodies. The band's sound has been described as "snatching the borderline between NOTHING's heavy dream pop and SONHOS TOMAM CONTA, a blackgaze band from São Paulo, Brazil...".The lead track "SWEET JESUS WEPT SHIT" from the album will surely make you fall in love with its overwhelming transparency and heaviness!
