CD featuring Liszt by Anna Sherest Anna Sherest is a Ukrainian-born pianist. After studying at the Harkiou Conservatory of Music, she went on to study at the Juilliard School in the United States with the renowned teacher Jerome Lowenthal, where she received her master's degree. Since then, she has been based in New York. Her husband, Dmitri Charest, is also a pianist, and they are also active as a husband-wife duo. Her piano playing is less flamboyant, and her lush tone broadens the music delicately and poetically, and Liszt's Isolde's Love Death, often played like a showpiece, is truly poignant and beautifully played.
