This is the long-awaited world premiere LP reissue of the extremely rare 2nd album by Brooklyn Sounds on the prestigious MARY LOU affiliated SALSA label, and a coveted album for Latin~Rare Groove fans who enjoy hard salsa with a streetwise New York underground feel! Brooklyn Sounds was one of the few salsa bands in the indie scene that was gaining momentum in the boroughs of New York City in the early 1970s. With no support from the mainstream Latin music industry such as Fania, their spark of creativity and rebelliousness, which set them apart from the majors, still shines brightly and has captured the hearts and minds of many music fans and DJs, even if only for a short time. In contrast to the first album, this album is less slow and more full of confident and creative arrangements. A series of heavy underground salsadura with raw trombones, original and fiery piano, and powerful percussion.The album contains many killer tunes that will remain in the history of salsa, including the uplifting "Libre Soy," which can be considered an anthem, "Ha llegado el momento," which begins with a reference to "Moliendo cafe (coffee rumba)," and the midtempo "Guaguancó tropical. The album contains many killer tunes that have left their mark in salsa history. A perfect fusion of barrio atmosphere and Caribbean swing, this is New York salsa at its best. In the U.S., where the Hispanic presence has been increasing in recent years, the popularity of this album has been unparalleled. The original is no longer available, and even if it were to appear on the market, it would surely be a six-digit rarity, so this reissue is truly an accomplishment!
