Marian Filler (1917-2012) was a pianist (male pianist) born in Warsaw, Poland. Because of his Jewish background, he was sent to a camp during World War II and survived the near-death experience. After the war, he studied piano again and became active in Germany, but soon immigrated to the U.S. He lived a long life at the age of 94, but after the war he had a long teaching career and has only a few recordings left. This CD, featuring music by Chopin, the great composer of his homeland, is an important source for rediscovering Filler. Tobu Land System
