These are a collection of Bach's immortal masterpieces composed during his "Köthen (1717-1723)" and "Leipzig (1723-1750)" periods. The performance on this disc is as wonderful as one would expect, and the virtuosity of the BCJ instrumentalists shines through. Ririko Maeda plays a major role in No. 2, in which the flute solo plays an important role. The most famous piece of classical music, "Aria on the G string," is arranged in the second piece "Air" from No. 3.
