Master saxophonist Raf Heckema releases new solo album of Bach's music with carefully crafted, deeply sculpted arrangements! Raf Heckema, who has been performing his own arrangements of Bach's unaccompanied violin partitas and unaccompanied cello suites on saxophone, has released a new Bach album. The pandemic melancholy of 2020-21 gradually turned to the art of introspection, giving rise to a project to make Bach more pleasant to listen to. In the end, he was able to spend much of his time working with a sense of serenity, and the three unaccompanied violin sonatas were recomposed as a single sonata, with optional excerpts of the movements. The sonatas are solo pieces that make the most of the charm of the saxophone. The early keyboard pieces "Chromatic Fantasy" and "Fantasy" were arranged effectively so as not to lose their effervescent enthusiasm. Heckema asked for advice from Ton Koopman, a master of the ancient music world whom he admires, and the arrangement was elaborated. On the other hand, BWV 1013, written for flute solo, which is also a wind instrument, is a very straightforward arrangement that presents the original song of the piece as it is. King International
