The idea behind this work is that sound is one of the revered elements within this culture. The worship of sound itself is depicted within the compositions of this album, shaped through performance. While Villejes himself does not practice Abakuá, he states that the more he explored Abakuá music, the clearer it became where his own music came from and where it was headed.
