Faure (1845-1924)
Description:
The music of Fauré (1845-1924) may remind many people of the beautiful Requiem. The sound of the requiem is pure and pure, full of softness and tenderness as if it has been stripped of all impurities, and it is worthy of being called an eternal masterpiece. Fauré also left many masterpieces in the field of chamber music. This Piano Quartet No. 2 is estimated to have been written around the same time as the Requiem, from around 1885 to 1886. It is said that the direct motivation for the composition of the Requiem was the death of his father (Fauré himself denies this), but there is also a hint of sadness in this work as a whole. In the first movement, the piano's violent pounding at the beginning of the first movement evokes a sense of sadness, like raindrops. The Kungsbach Piano Trio's performance of the other pieces in the coupling is also very attractive. The "Dolly" Lullaby, originally a solo piano piece, is followed by a tender arrangement of the "Three Mute Songs," and an impressive arrangement of a later work, the Piano Trio, in which the violin part is replaced by a clarinet. This is unique and cannot be heard anywhere else. Naxos Japan
