Description:
Mahler's "Ode to the Earth" by Walter, the VPO, Ferrier, and Patsak is finally reissued on 2-track, 38 cm, open-reel tape! From the ProducerWalter and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra's Mahler's "Ode to the Earth" is a milestone in the history of vinyl recordings, and I don't think I need to add any particular explanation. In our series, GS-2019 (2007) was reissued using Decca's early LP LXT2721/2, but ever since tape reissues became mainstream, I have been searching for a 2-track, 38 cm open-reel tape of this performance. However, in the summer of 2022, I finally got my wish and found and acquired the tape. The sound quality is nothing short of spectacular, and with so many competing recordings available, including SACDs, many people may wonder what the heck I'm talking about. Although it is true that there are many different ways to receive the sound quality, I believe that more than 80% of those who actually hear this CD will understand the significance of its release. Please note that there is no bilingual lyrics attached to this CD. Please understand that the CD is not accompanied by a translation of the lyrics.(Naoya Hirabayashi) King International
