Sergio Merce, born in 1973, is a saxophonist and sound artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Known as a microtonal saxophonist, he has released CDs on experimental, improvisational, and contemporary music labels such as Potlatch (France), Edition Wandelweiser (Germany), and MarginalFrequency (USA). This CD includes Sergio Merce's solo work "Traslasierra ( expanded landscape) (27 minutes), a solo work by Sergio Merce created using virtual instruments, synthesizers, and field recordings. The field recordings were recorded in the Traslasierra Valley, a natural scenic area in Cordoba, Argentina, which gives the album its title.
